Labiaplasty: Trim vs. Wedge Technique Explained

Cited Research

Labiaplasty is among the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures globally, driven by both functional discomfort and aesthetic concern. Two main techniques exist.

Trim (linear) technique

The free edge of the labium is excised and re-sutured. Simpler, faster, predictable. Best for straightforward excess.

Wedge technique

A V-shaped wedge is removed from the middle of the labium and the edges reapproximated, preserving the natural border. Best when preserving pigmentation and edge contour is the priority.
