A mommy makeover typically combines abdominoplasty with breast surgery (lift, augmentation, or both). The combined recovery is more involved than either operation alone but consolidates downtime into a single window.
Week 1
Help at home essential. Stooped walking from the abdominoplasty. Drains often in place. Pain managed with multimodal analgesia.
Weeks 2–3
Standing upright again. Drains usually removed. Return to desk work for many patients at week 3.
Weeks 4–6
Light cardio. Lifting restrictions still in place for the abdomen.
Months 3–6
Swelling continues to resolve, particularly along the abdominal incision. Final result evident at 6 months; scar maturation continues to 12 months.
