Double eyelid surgery is not a single operation. There are three distinct techniques, each with different recovery, durability, and indications.
Suture (DST) technique
Tiny punctures with permanent sutures creating an internal adhesion. Recovery: 3–5 days. Reversible. Best for young patients with thin skin and no excess.
Partial incision
A 1–2 cm incision allows fat sculpting while limiting scar. Recovery: 7–10 days. Good middle ground for patients with mild fat excess.
Full incision
Standard blepharoplasty incision with skin and fat removal. The most powerful, most durable, and most appropriate for older patients or significant excess.
