The P-Shot and O-Shot: How PRP Is Revolutionizing Intimate Wellness

Cited Research

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated growth factor derived from a small sample of the patient's own blood. In sexual wellness — branded as the P-Shot for men and the O-Shot for women — it is injected into specific erogenous tissues to improve sensation, function, and tissue health.

What the published evidence shows

A growing body of peer-reviewed research, indexed on PubMed, supports modest but meaningful improvements in: erectile function in men with mild-to-moderate ED; arousal, lubrication, and sensation in women experiencing menopausal or post-childbirth changes; and stress urinary incontinence in women.

What it is not

PRP is not a substitute for a workup. Men with newly-onset ED should always be evaluated for cardiovascular disease, hormonal causes, and medication side effects first. Women with painful intercourse should rule out structural and hormonal causes before considering injection therapy.

What the appointment looks like

  1. 01 Blood draw — about two tubes' worth.
  2. 02 Centrifugation in clinic, 10–15 minutes.
  3. 03 Topical and local anesthetic to the treatment area.
  4. 04 Injection — a few minutes.
  5. 05 Total visit: roughly an hour, with no real downtime.
